SAS نوعی باس می باشد که برای انتقال اطلاعات از هارد دیسک یا درایو نوار استفاده می شود. این تکنولوژی بر اساس پروتوکول point2point سریال پیاده سازی شده است که تقریبا جای تکنولوژی SCSI سریال که در دیتا سنتر ها و ایستگاه کاری ها استفاده می شد را گرفته است .
