یادگیری یک(ممکن است اشتباه) تابع عمومی یا قانون از یک جفت ورودی-خروجی را inductive learning یادگیری استنتاجی گوییم.
رفتن از یک قانون عمومی شناخته شده به یک قانون جدید که منطقا شامل می شود اما مفید است چون پردازش کاراتری را اجازه می دهد. را گوییم analytical or deductive learning
